On July 13th the Sleaford Wheelers promote the Nev Crane Memorial 25 Mile Time Trial. The event is now in its 2nd year and is in memory of a person who gave so much to the sport.

                       From International road man in the late 50's and early 60's to GB team mechanic. Resurrecting the Sleaford Wheelers in 1965 he also held many positions on committees and found time to promote as well. That in spite of running a succcessful cycle shop for 40 years.

                       Arguably the richest TT in Lincolnshire it attracted 91 entries last year. A field, the  size of which was said by many, to have not been seen in the County for decades.

                       This year, the well spread prize awards amount to in excess of £800.The prospectus is as under.

£100 Fastest rider with awards going down to 10 th place.

£20   Fastest Vet on Standard   going down to 10 th place.

£40   Fastest Lady   going down to 3 rd place.

£10 Fastest Vet, Espoir, Junior, Juvenile and Trike.

£10 each Fastest Team of 3 riders.

£10 each to Fastest rider slower than 1-00-59, 1-01-59 going down to an including 1-11-59.

£50 to winner if course record  (53-37 Ian Dalton) is beaten.

£20 additional if winner is inside  53-00 and

£20 for each additional 30 secs improvement.

£30 to Fastest Lady if Ladies course record (1-01-18 Fliss Hart) is beaten.

THE NEV CRANE MEMORIAL  TROPHY

will be awarded Annually to the Fastest rider from the Sleaford Wheelers.
